Destruction of My Island Home-spoils of war

These photos are copywrite by the veterans of the island...Look under Johnston Island and you can find the names of these special people who risk their lives in order to protect the earth from an evil that will long be remembered as spoils of war. Ni
An island formed from a volcanic eruption over millions of years. A speck in the middle of a vast ocean and I was blessed to have lived there, with my family. It is the farthest from civilization possible, unless one considered a tiny island that held birds as civilized. Peaceful, quiet, calm and charming. Pleasant swims in protected lagoon beach. A stop off for a multitude of air craft on their way to somewhere.

Later in its existance it was contaminated to the point of having no one allowed to walk upon the area without a hazard suit. It was used for testing a multitude of equipment used in and after wars.

It was increased in size by destroying the reef and building it up to create more space. Then it was used to dispose of hazardous waste from another war. The island was hot, but not because of the sun. Finally, after having been used for many years, a hurricane decided to hit the area and soon after the island was scraped of all buildings and equipment and put up for sale. This was and island that was so important during WWII...world war 2...and now we can just toss it aside. It is now under the protection of a wild life reserve.

It is my hope and prayer that this island is allowed to return to the wild. I hope the reefs improve and hold the multitude of fish and mammals that have used it for a home or a stopping place as they passed by. Sharks, butterfly fish, trigger fish, star fish, squid , octopus, manta-ray, red and white corals, snails, sea birds...and on and on. I, having moved from place to place in the service, am left with not home to return to. In my opinion, they should give the island to me. I paid a heavy price for having been part of service life. I was contaminated, burned, injected with a multitude of germs to protect me from germs. Constantly, the new kid, and always facing being behind in class. Have I evoked sympathy...yeah... then,Vote for me to get possession of this island.

Let us see if votes really count. Even my work life has been effected by my constant moving, I can't get disability because I had to move so many times that my work life was sketchy...never mind how many times I packed up, moved, unpacked, restarted a job only to be off to a new place before I had established as stable record in the present job. (Was I ever in the present...that is another blog) Yes, I want this island. This is my wish blog.

What is your dream. Let me know...I'll try to vote.
